Fond memories of summer days growing up in New England.  I can see these beauties all framed up in gallery frames and hanging amongst photos of my early years. (see “stacking frame” post)

the art of camping

Shellie Mitchell : Expedition Yellow Tent is a print of an original fabric on wood piece Shellie created. A happy little camper print. 8.5″ x 11″

Shellie Mitchell : This is an 8.5″ x 11″ print of an original fabric on wood piece. Good Night. Makes us want to camp, camp, camp.

Rachel Austin : We are completely loving Rachel’s original mixed media paintings. This one, entitled ‘Folly,’ is from a location on the map layered under the painting. A perfect size at 5″ x 5″, it has a thick, waxy texture.  A lovely painting of a bird resting on a tent in a thin forest of trees. Check out Rachel’s website for more information.

Rachel Austin : An original mixed media painting on a wooden panel, fine art print, limited edition. New White Tent. Check out Rachel’s website for more work.

Catalog Living

A dear friend of mine sent me this blog site, now I receive it everyday in my email … it makes me laugh. Catalog Living is the creation of Molly Erdman, a Los Angeles-based actor, writer, and comedian.

Molly’s blog reveals the exciting lives of the people who live in your catalogs. She’s down-right hilarious.

Here are a few days of her blog:

Keep your hobbies to yourself…

Gary, we were having such a lovely afternoon with the Andersons until you decided you just had to show off your string ball.

Out of the closet…

While Gary and Elaine were in the kitchen getting popcorn, the brave yellow sweater attempted its escape.

We are family…

Secretly, Gary had always wondered if all these children were indeed his.

Woody Wood Rug

Check out the amazing craftsmanship put into this unique wood-like rug. The Woody Wood rug was designed to look like the cross-section of a log complete with rings, grain and bark, giving the edge a rough, interesting border (which is cut, burned and fixed for a neat edge). Created by Yvette Laduk of  YLdesign. Contact Yvette for pricing.

votives

We love these porcelain tea light votives. I’m especially fond of the sea urchin. Israeli artist, Ady Shapira, offers her beautiful work at wapa studio.  The object is slip cast in Limoges porcelain from a mold that Ady designed and made, the urchin like surface is processed by hand.
