I had the most spectacular lavender martini last night
at a fun little place called Shuga’s.
I found this recipe from Queensland Homes.
- 2-3 lavender sprigs
- 5 ml Parfait Amour
- 5 ml Dry Vermouth
- 60 ml Bombay Sapphire Gin *
Bruise one sprig of lavender in a bostonglass with
a muddling stick. Fill with ice and add parfait amour,
vermouth, and gin. Stir and strain into chilled martini
glass, garnish with a lavender sprig* or other quality gin,
such as Martin Miller’s or Tanqueray.

Green screams spring to us. A garden of paradise.

{via} Green and turquoise, what a phenomenal combination. The chair looks like it might be easy to find, the peacock on the other hand may be a little more difficult.

{via} Porch Light Interiors with Hayley & Tracey, we adore their Australian style. Loving the leopard pillow up against the green velvet couch.

When flipping through interior design magazines and my daily list of blogs {desde my ventana is one of my faves}, certain images conjure up ideas for artwork. These beautiful rooms do just that for me. Next step, I go on an imagery hunt, searching for images from the 18th and 19th centuries … this process can take days, months, and sometimes years.

This image screams PERFECT for the artwork that I have in mind. Now on to all the minute details [the textiles, the background, the little details that hide throughout the work] and then the sketching process. Stay tuned.

Our lucky day. Thanks to Terri at Crow Woman Quilts, we are featured on her Etsy treasury.
Don’t miss the “INQUISITION,” a beautiful hand printed, limited edition intaglio etching by artist, Larry Vienneau.
We’re also wild about, Feather 126, an original watercolor of a simple feather. Check out Jody Edward’s artwork.

The delightful true story of Tony Penrose, who counted Pablo Picasso – a friend of his parents – among his boyhood playmates. Filled with fun facts for tiny art aficionados, this book offers a rare and charming glimpse into Picasso’s personal life. A perfect gift for children and their parents. {via} An interesting article on Tony Penrose, here.
