We’re lovin’ this curated grouping of turquoise and orange. Thanks to Born at the Wrong Time we were featured among a sea of talent. I’m thinking a trip to the beach is in order!
Caught our eye:
- From Lara Minassian of La Crescenta, CA: Don’t miss this beautiful vintage floating mermaid wall plaque figurine made in the 1950s by Lefton.
- The Jelly Fish photograph is AWESOME! A Vintage Jellyfish Photograph – 8×10 Photo from Seven Eleven Studios in Muncie, Indiana.
- Don’t miss out on this ideal map, a Vintage Florida image of the Sarasota and Siesta Key area, it is altered and embellished with great retro colors. Straight from Vintage Beach Maps.
- Last but certainly not least, our octopus in the ocean belt buckle. It’s crazy beautiful.

We love the combination of industrial metal and warm antiques. Concrete floors with earthy wooden furnishings. Worn brick and stucco walls with a sheet metal backsplash.

I’m having a hard time containing myself. When I moved to Colorado Springs from DC, I admit, I truly missed all of the inspiring home decor stores of Old Town Alexandria, VA and those that DC had to offer. Yesterday I stumbled upon Earthen Artisan House in Old Colorado City, where I met the owner and operator, Erica Buelow {she’s absolutely lovely}. It’s a breathtaking store filled with unique, eclectic as well as affordable home accents, furniture and gifts. Erica’s discerning eye makes this sublime boutique so worth visiting … over and over again. Thanks to she and her husband, Nathan, for bringing exquisite style to the Springs.

Right up my alley. A welcomed boost of inspiration.

Paris-based artist Maissa Toulet’s Curiosity Cabinets are quirky little worlds encased in glass, where animal and people parts mingle with plant life and funny little objects.
While she discovered the shadow boxes and assemblies of American artist Joseph Cornell when she was a teen, it wasn’t until she was 30, after a stint as a teacher, that Toulet dared to arrange her eclectic jumble into her own presentations. Toulet describes her pieces as “miniature museums” in which each object has a place and is not interchangeable. Her newest ones tend towards story-telling.

So nice to be included in this gorgeous collection of Italian items.
We’re loving:
- The Aqua Door Photo from Vita Nostra, Durham NC. Check out all of Emily’s photography, she’s certainly a world traveler.
- The Florence Pendant Charm is darling, created by The Pendant Emporium.
- And of course, the Italian map and red coral decoupage glass tray, one of our faves too! Found at Nadine Sage Atelier.

I’m crazy about chandeliers. I’ve always wanted one in my studio but have yet to find one, “on sale,” that I like.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner … so we’re gearing up to have a couple of special valentine trays for our customers. We have searched high and low for interesting heart related images. Here’s a sampling of hearts that may find their way to a papier collé tray.

We’ve set today aside for photographing birds for my new series. Let’s hope the ravens and magpies are out and about.
