stockist :: earthen artisan house

I’m preparing 16 pieces to hang at Earthen Artisan House {EAH} for Friday’s ArtWalk. Always a great time as there are many exhibits happening up and down Old Colorado Avenue and into Manitou Springs. If you live in the area, stop on by. Erica of EAH also stocks our buckles and glass trays.

dreaming of warmer climates

We’re lovin’ this curated grouping of turquoise and orange. Thanks to Born at the Wrong Time we were featured among a sea of talent. I’m thinking a trip to the beach is in order!

Caught our eye:

  1. From Lara Minassian of La Crescenta, CA: Don’t miss this beautiful vintage floating mermaid wall plaque figurine made in the 1950s by Lefton.
  2. The Jelly Fish photograph is AWESOME! A Vintage Jellyfish Photograph – 8×10 Photo from Seven Eleven Studios in Muncie, Indiana.
  3. Don’t miss out on this ideal map, a Vintage Florida image of the Sarasota and Siesta Key area, it is altered and embellished with great retro colors. Straight from Vintage Beach Maps.
  4. Last but certainly not least, our octopus in the ocean belt buckle. It’s crazy beautiful.

toulet’s curiosity

Right up my alley. A welcomed boost of inspiration.

Paris-based artist Maissa Toulet’s Curiosity Cabinets are quirky little worlds encased in glass, where animal and people parts mingle with plant life and funny little objects.

While she discovered the shadow boxes and assemblies of American artist Joseph Cornell when she was a teen, it wasn’t until she was 30, after a stint as a teacher, that Toulet dared to arrange her eclectic jumble into her own presentations. Toulet describes her pieces as “miniature museums” in which each object has a place and is not interchangeable. Her newest ones tend towards story-telling.

murder of crows :: buzz

We are pleased to be part of a beautiful collection, Said the Raven, by Dashery Jewelry out of Stillwater Oklahoma.

We love all the items but are exceptionally drawn to:

  1. Reverence for Raven Chandelier by Jason Tennant, A beautifully hand carved wood sculpture. Don’t miss out on his wide array of carved wildlife.
  2. This costume will surely turn heads, the Raven Femme Fatale Costume Rental. I’m thinking this would be ideal for my upcoming Halloween Parties! Brought to you by SOTU Designs of New York.
  3. Another sure bet item for the upcoming holiday is that of Wing and Talon, the Raven Head Mask. Plus, it would be ideal to use as wall art when the halloween festivities are in the past.
  4. Last but not least, our Red Sun in the Morn Belt Buckle, beautiful rich orange and black, a sublime addition to any wardrobe.

travel bug :: buzz

Thanks to Sansiena our Geographia Belt Buckle has been highlighted in her “travel bug collection.”

We’re crushing on several other items, such as:

  1. From My Bearded Pigeon {out of New South Wales, Australia}, map pillows galore, beautifully made in colors that will sure to please. Although the Mexico pillow is sold, there are plenty of other terrific map designs available.
  2. We are absolutely wild about krieloWilliams’ dresses. Such a brilliant idea! Justin offers a variety of dress styles (which can be customized) and an array of exquisite fabric designs. Impeccably tailored … the custom 1950′s Style Nautical Scarf Print Twist Dress is dreamy.
  3. Don’t miss out on Sew Smitten where you can pick up your World Map Passport Holder. We’re also fond of the London Map Oyster Card Holder. Ideal gifts for friends who travel. Plus be sure to see more of their merchandise at their website.

under the sea :: buzz

We were featured by Konvaliia Designs out of New York with this beautiful combination of items from under the sea. Dana Lenec has a terrific array of photography and drawings in her store, so please be sure to check them out.

So many beautiful items, we’re exceptionally fond of the following:

  1. The sealife seashell pillow cover is spectacular. Ruth Arthur is the artist behind Designer Cushions out of New Zealand. This SHOP is a must see. Her prices are incredibly low for the amount of time that is put into each and every cushion cover. Her attention to detail is truly amazing.
  2. Non Fiction Tees, featuring tees with vintage illustrations. We can’t get enough of Ernst Haeckel!
  3. Don’t miss out on the steampunk shark necklace from Cosmic Firefly, you will love all the items they carry. I’m crushing on so many of their business card cases.
  4. And of course, we’re fond of our coral and sea urchin belt buckle too!
