hanging art :: no 1

I have a wall in my home office that is slowly getting covered with artwork. A mish-mosh of a collection.

up close and personal

Take a few minutes and see what I’ve been working on. I’m looking forward to getting back in the studio after my trip to New England and starting my 2012 series.

under the sea :: buzz

We were featured by Konvaliia Designs out of New York with this beautiful combination of items from under the sea. Dana Lenec has a terrific array of photography and drawings in her store, so please be sure to check them out.

So many beautiful items, we’re exceptionally fond of the following:

  1. The sealife seashell pillow cover is spectacular. Ruth Arthur is the artist behind Designer Cushions out of New Zealand. This SHOP is a must see. Her prices are incredibly low for the amount of time that is put into each and every cushion cover. Her attention to detail is truly amazing.
  2. Non Fiction Tees, featuring tees with vintage illustrations. We can’t get enough of Ernst Haeckel!
  3. Don’t miss out on the steampunk shark necklace from Cosmic Firefly, you will love all the items they carry. I’m crushing on so many of their business card cases.
  4. And of course, we’re fond of our coral and sea urchin belt buckle too!

portraits :: hanging art

I love portraits even if I don’t know the person in the painting. There is something mysterious about having a collection of portraits displayed.

An idea for my next papier collé.

hanging art :: curator 101

Dispense art and found objects with a grid arrangement — intersperse different shapes and textures, and give each item room to breathe. {via}

Mix and match. There are no rules. {via}

Use clips rather then nails or the dreaded tape. {via}
