inspiration :: new artwork

When flipping through interior design magazines and my daily list of blogs {desde my ventana is one of my faves}, certain images conjure up ideas for artwork. These beautiful rooms do just that for me. Next step, I go on an imagery hunt, searching for images from the 18th and 19th centuries … this process can take days, months, and sometimes years.

This image screams PERFECT for the artwork that I have in mind. Now on to all the minute details [the textiles, the background, the little details that hide throughout the work] and then the sketching process. Stay tuned.

art to set the mood

I’m a bit of an interior decorating mag-oholic. What catches my eye in these publications is the placement of artwork and and how art can set the mood of an interior space.

It’s Good to be the King … but It’s Better to be the Queen.
