detox cocktail with vodka: friday at five

I typically add a shot or two of vodka, but that’s just me.

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups water
1 head organic romaine lettuce, chopped
1/2 of large bunch of organic spinach (or 3/4 small bunch)
3 or 4 stalks organic celery
1 organic apple, cored and chopped
1 organic pear, cored and chopped
1 organic banana
Juice of 1/2 organic lemon

PREPARATION

Add the water and chopped head of romaine and spinach to the blender. Starting the blender on a low speed, mix until smooth. Gradually moving to higher speeds, add the celery, apple, and pear. Add the cilantro and parsley if you choose. Fresh herbs, like cilantro and parsley, have cleansing properties that help extract heavy metals and other toxins from the body. Add the banana and lemon juice last. This recipe produces about 60 ounces. You can store the rest of the liquid for a day or portion it out and freeze.

greenwoman magazine :: a literary garden

I’ve fallen head over heels for Greenwoman Magazine, an exemplary publication. Check it out {here} and see for yourself how delightful it is. Subscriptions are a mere $12.50, an absolute steal for everything you receive: a literary garden of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, commentary, biography, art and comics. A true labor of love by Sandra and Zora Knauf.

BUZZ:  “[Greenwoman zine] reaches the poet, the artist, and the dreamer in all us gardeners.”

Green screams spring to us. A garden of paradise.

{via} Green and turquoise, what a phenomenal combination. The chair looks like it might be easy to find, the peacock on the other hand may be a little more difficult.

I can see the image below hanging in this beauty of a kitchen. {MyHomeIdeas} and {Southern Living} … Okay, I admit, sage green is one of my favorite colors.

This is a fraction of a papier collé I’m currently working on. Working with the illustration as posted on Aug 31, 2010 (as pictured below) I have incorporated oils, as well as a layers of maps and imagery in the far background.
